Foam scraps are used for anything that needs foam (open cell) such as packaging, shipping delicate things, padding, cushioning, and even gymnastic pits.  This foam is also very inexpensive.

In the picture on the left, the weight is about 15 pounds; on the right, the weight is around 400 pounds.
